While on guard duty, 20-year-old Ukrainian army soldier Aleksey Nikolaevich Sayenko shot himself in the head with a Kalashnikov assault rifle. The incident took place near the village of Zolote on the line of demarcation of fire between the army of Ukraine and the separatists of Donbass. Co-workers urged Sayenko to pull the trigger. The soldiers reportedly used marijuana. A post-incident check is being carried out at military unit 3085.
